What do you need to consider when buying boardroom tables or meeting room tables?
You need to make your meetings work: squashing too many people around a table or having an enormous table with 3 people spaced around it will not be productive. However, the space that we have for meetings usually dictates the size of table.
It is important that the size of the boardroom table is sufficient to accommodate the number of people who would usually use it. As a rule of thumb, it is important to leave a minimum of 700mm per person. However, allowing a greater amount of space per person is advisable to ensure comfortable meetings. Sitting too close to colleagues, especially when it is warm in the meeting room, can impede the concentration and hinder working.
Our executive beech boardroom / meeting room table will seat 10-12 people. It has a 40mm thick top, is an elegant barrel shaped table and its legs are recessed to allow chairs and people to sit comfortable around it. At £705 + vat with free delivery, this 3.6 metre long table is extremely popular.
We also have smaller models like our oval 6-8 people boardroom table or 8-10 people meeting room table priced from £185 + vat.
Whilst a large contemporary dining table might look nice in situ in an office, the practicalities of the legs do not work. It is the same for some of the cheaper boardroom tables. It is important to look out for meeting room tables whose legs are set back. This means that numerous office chairs can be put around without someone ‘getting the leg’, reducing discomfort and helping to assist concentration at long meetings.
